While walking Jasper, my foster dog, through the BLM land adjacent to our home, I've been confronted by a disheartening sight – our beautiful desert marred by over 450 piles of illegally dumped waste. This includes everything from household appliances to, most alarmingly, deceased animals. Recently, I stumbled upon a particularly disturbing scene: three dead horses, a sight that raises serious concerns about animal welfare in our community.
As someone deeply invested in the well-being of our environment and our four-legged friends, I see this not just as an issue of illegal dumping but as a symptom of a larger problem that needs immediate attention. It’s a call to action for all of us who cherish Pinal County and its natural beauty.
That's why I, David Malton, aspiring Pinal County Supervisor for District 5, propose a bold, proactive solution: a rewards program. This initiative will offer up to $2500 or more as a reward for information leading to the identification and apprehension of those responsible for this illegal and harmful activity. It's a step towards not only cleaning up our deserts but also fostering a culture of responsibility and care for our environment and animals.
